Non-Invasive Ultrasonic Canine Dental Care in Shrewsbury, Shropshire
At Groom for Improvement, we offer gentle, effective ultrasonic teeth cleaning for dogs using the Emmi®-Pet system — a non-invasive alternative to brushing or sedation-based dental care. Our staff have also undertaken additional dental health training by the fabulous Dr Sophie Bell the vet.
✨ What Is Emmi®-Pet?
Emmi®-Pet uses silent ultrasonic waves to clean teeth and gums without vibration, noise, or brushing. It creates millions of microbubbles that break down plaque and bacteria, helping to reduce tartar, improve breath, and support healthy gums — all without stress or discomfort.
🐾 Ideal For Dogs Who:
✔ Have mild to moderate tartar build-up
✔ Suffer from bad breath
✔ Need regular maintenance between professional veterinary cleans
✔ Are unsuitable for sedation or dislike brushing
💰 Prices & What’s Included
🔹 Initial Session – £44.80 (inc VAT)
A longer appointment to gently introduce your dog to the process
Includes your dog’s own Emmi®-Pet toothbrush head (sterilised and stored between visits)
Creation of a personal dental record/chart to track progress
Full ultrasonic clean
📌 We recommend booking the first session separately from grooming appointments, as dogs are often less tolerant after a full groom. A standalone session allows us to take the time needed for a calm, positive introduction.
🔸 Follow-Up Sessions – £25.20 (inc VAT)
Ongoing maintenance using your dog’s personal brush head
Shorter, effective sessions to keep teeth clean and breath fresh
Toothbrush heads typically last 7–10 sessions, but may need replacing sooner if your dog chews heavily.

These terms and conditions are subject to change.
1. Appointments & Cancellations
All appointments must be pre-booked. We are unable to accept walk ins.
Less than 24 hours’ notice of cancellation or rescheduling will require 50% of the grooming fee to be paid.
Missed appointments (no-shows) must be paid in full before a new appointment can be scheduled.
Repeated no-shows or short-notice cancellations may result in refusal of future bookings.
2. Late Arrivals
Please arrive on time. If you are more than 15 minutes late, we may not be able to carry out the groom, and
the full fee may still be charged.
Early drop-offs or late collections (outside agreed times) may incur a £5 fee per 15 minutes.
3. Health & Behaviour
Vaccinations are at the owner’s discretion. However, any illness contracted while your dog is unvaccinated
will be at your own risk and expense.
You must inform us of any known medical conditions, allergies, or behavioural concerns, including signs of
aggression, before the appointment.
Dogs that display aggressive behaviour during their appointment will be assessed on an individual basis and if the groomer deems it unsafe to continue then the service will be stopped and the dog will need collecting. We do not use muzzles at Groom For Improvement and we will not force a dog to have a grooming service done.
Failure to disclose known aggressive behaviour may result in a report to the police under the Dangerous
Dogs Act 1991.
Groom for Improvement is not liable for any costs resulting from injury or damage caused by undisclosed
behavioural issues.
4. Fleas & Parasites
If fleas are found during the appointment, a £10 surcharge will apply to cover the cost of treating and
disinfecting the salon.
Dogs with severe infestations will be sent home immediately, and the full cost of the missed groom must still
be paid.
5. Matted Coats
Under the animal welfare act we will always prioritise your dog’s welfare over styling. Severely matted coats may need to be clipped short to
avoid pain or distress.
A dematting fee may be applied.
Groom for Improvement is not liable for any skin irritation, conditions or injury that may be uncovered during the
removal of matted fur.
6. Accidents & Emergencies
Although every precaution is taken, accidents can occasionally happen.
You authorise us to seek veterinary care at your expense if needed. We will always attempt to contact you
first, unless emergency treatment is required.
7. Veterinary Release Consent
In the event of a medical emergency where you cannot be reached, you give us permission to act in your
dog’s best interest and seek urgent veterinary care at your expense.
8. Data Protection (GDPR)
We securely store your personal and pet information in accordance with the UK General Data Protection
Regulation (GDPR).
Your details will never be shared or used for marketing unless you have explicitly opted in.
9. Photos & Social Media
We may photograph your dog during or after the groom for use on social media or marketing materials.
Please email us if you do not want your dog to appear on our social platforms.
10. Payments
Payment is due in full upon collection.
We accept cash and card payments.
Pricing is based on breed, coat condition, behaviour, and time taken. Additional fees may apply for extra time,
handling, or specialist services.
11. Owner Responsibilities
Dogs must arrive on a lead or in a secure pet carrier.
Please toilet your dog before your appointment.
We reserve the right to refuse service to clients who are abusive or do not adhere to these terms. Please ensure you are contactable whilst your dog is in our care, or that an emergency contact has been nominated.
12. Complaints
If you are dissatisfied with any part of your dog’s groom, you must submit your complaint in writing via email
to [email protected] within 48 hours of the appointment.
We aim to resolve any concerns quickly and fairly but cannot investigate complaints raised outside this
timeframe or informally.
